Details: “Hey Vectortuts! This is a vector piece that I made for my website. I didn’t particularly design it to be a logo but I’m using it as one for my site.
The idea for the design came from spiders and dogs, and also my love for Burger King.
I’d like to know what the pros and the Vectortuts community think of the overall composition and quality. Any feedback is appreciated! Cheers"

Sweet spider puppy!
Here’s how I would push it. Right now the eyes, mouth and snout don’t seem to be interacting with each other. I love the simple feel of the eyes, but the curl of the mouth and the puggishness of the snout – they eyes feel like they aren’t a part of the flesh that’s implied.
Give the eyes a little… half moon crinkle to them and see what that looks like? A nuanced squint of the eyes as an effect of the grin?
Also, most of your corners are sharp, but for some reason the curl of the smile and the edge of the snout have blunt corners. An observation really – but maybe a choice worth reconsidering?
I really like this a lot (it’s in a style that I’m generally a fan of) my only issue would be the BK in the crown… I mean it’s cool that you’re nodding to your love of burger king but that putting the logo there you’re treading on dangerous territory for logo use… Especially if you’re using this image as a logo or for self promotion.
I think the crown alone would be burger kingy enough… or you could figure in another way to include a reference to burger king.
Hey guys, thanks for the awesome feedback!
Sarah > I see what you mean, I’ll try adding some more details to his face. I had actually tried putting wrinkles around his eyes and for his lower lip, but I just couldn’t make it look good, haha. I’ll give it another shot! Also, good call on the smile curl – I’m going to make it more consistent by making it sharp.
margaretnicholdesign > True that – I kind of made this without thinking of using it as a logo, but if I decide to use it for something more serious I’ll certainly remove the BK reference. I’ll probably use the name of some fictional burger joint
Thanks again,
