That’s the kind of work that I always pray to get!

Am I the first to comment?

lol! this is ugly! and easy too

@lumo – I disagree. I think this looks cool. Take a look at Kate’s (Loungecat’s) folio http://www.loungekat.com/ Her work is awesome and she has loads of real world illustration experience to share.

The tutorial is fairly easy for an experienced illustrator, though just right for a beginner to intermediate artist. She also covers loads of new Illustrator CS4 tools and techniques in the tutorial, which everyone can benefit from.

I agree with Sean, it’s cool looking and a great idea.

Please stop calling things ugly and start showing some respect.

It’s far more attractive and complex than some recent postings. Besides, I think the focus is on prepress, which doesn’t get enough exposure on these tutorial sites.

I’m not a skateboarder but I can already tell that once when you put the trucks & wheels on the board, you’re going to cover the design

  • kevin

Nice work, but not such a cool design for a skateboard though. 99% of skaters are guys, dudes, you know? If you know anything about the skate community, this is just not acceptable. If a “guy” showed up at a skatepark with that deck, he’s probably going to get beat up…or at least snaked a lot! Well…no we would beat him up. :)
And after skating for more than 25 years, I think I’m right.

You may have a point, but considering I sell skateboards as part of my job it could be a cultural thing. Australians generally like art for art, not art for boys and art for girls ;)
