This Vector Plus Tutorial is Filled with Creative Instruction

When it comes to simulating three dimensional depth in your illustrations, the Blend Tool is your new best friend. Watch and be amazed at the power of Illustrator CS3 as it reaches through your monitor and, with defiance, and slaps you in the face with it's subtle charm and versatility. Along with the blend tool, we'll be using other tools and tricks to create this illustration.

Wow, nice effect, I love the depth and the gradient effects.

The way you have created the tantacles is so cool. It’s a normal way to do it, but you’ve used it with wisdom, maybe it’s because of the gradient.
Anyway, you did a great job! The only problem is that I’m not a plus member…
