Dacosta is an independent artist currently based in Vancouver and is the founder of Chocolate Soop, Inc. He specializes in vector graphics and character design. This self-taught designer has over 10 years of professional experience. He’s influenced by Japanese culture, graffiti and industrial design. Matt Lyon, aka C86, is a talented, vector illustrator living in London, UK. He has a background in teaching graphic design to young adults, he studied at the Slade School of Fine Art at University College London, and he has successfully transitioned into working as a full-time illustrator. He’s inspired by retro folk art, children’s illustration, abstraction, and other artistic styles and ideas, which you’ll learn more about in this interview.

Matt has numerous successful projects, like popular Threadless t-shirt designs and his “Typoquotes” series. Matt’s work is driven by his prodigious daily sketches, which he then colorizes digitally, usually as vector art in Adobe Illustrator. Chris Leavens is a talented vector artist born and raised in Pennsylvania who now resides in Los Angeles. He graduated with a BA in film and video and initially worked in the film industry. Later Chris decided to take a break from the film biz and began working as an illustrator, graphic designer, and web designer, focusing primarily on educational material for children.

Chris creates vector art entirely in Adobe Illustrator including textural elements. Chris’s work incorporates absurdity, anthropomorphism, and a healthy dose of humor. For those who don’t know he has also written a tutorial for Vectortuts+ .
