I --- and everyone I&#039;ve ever mentioned this to --- often subconsciously skip over things that are larger and darker as I skim a page looking for something. My conditioning is that they&#039;re normally the thing the page author wants me to look at (adverts, pointless callouts, etc) rather than anything I&#039;m actually looking for.</description>
