Nice tips, colours and the set-up looks great too, my only critique is the window looks somehow odd / wrong to me, that's probably only me though :)

You can do it in two ways:

1) Click in the File menu, Save for Web & Devices (or press Ctrl + Shift + S). There you will have several options for saving your image for web, like .jpg, .png, etc, plus you have a handy preview panel that shows you the outcome and the file size. On CS4 the area that will be saved will be the one on the active artwork. On CS3 and below, you'll have to make a crop area to select the exact area you want to save, otherwise it'll save ALL of your objects, which may turn in a HUGE file.

2) Click in the File menu, Export. This method is less powerful than the other one, but it has one handy tool, that is you can select the dpi of your image. So if you have a small illustration, you may export it bigger by selecting a bigger DPI.

I hope this was handy.

I really do prefer flash for this type of drawing heavily relying on stroke manipulation. It's a much more intuitive tool for this type of illustration, and before Illustrator CS4, it had a far better gradients management system.
Nice tut nonetheless!

Wow. I like this, so simple, but nice.. Now I got some idea for my design too! I am planning to make a birthday card with three little aliens and backround similar to this. In the talk cloud above they would say congrats.. to the recipient. Thank´s Kamen!
