Why Vector Premium Tutorial ? This is the same Plus?
Yes, we’re just changing the name from Plus to Premium. So it is now Premium members.
Why i cannot see the styled web site, on all tutplus websites I see only plain text with no images.. please fix this issue
are you use ie or firefox, this may cause it. Try safari
did you use web developer tools or any other browser plugins that you accidentally set to block any images?
Hi Andrea,
I’ve noticed that images are taking a while to load at the moment. All is ok, just a little slow for me.
Errr… I’m a premium member but can’t seem to download the files?
Kate – sorry about that. We have the Premium download fixed now. Thx.
I can’t download the source files either. What gives?
Reminds me of this: http://vectips.com/tutorials/create-a-mouthwatering-chocolate-covered-strawberry/ :-)
Yeah, close.
Exactly. A bit too close imo
Agreed seems a bit odd coming out so soon after this one.
This is not odd, and the detail on this one is quite different. The concept, and final image was approved before that tutorial was published over on Vectips. Keep in mind that we are often about a month ahead with content planning. I appreciate our audience keeping an eye out for these issues though an being vigilant. Thanks.
This is pretty damn similar to the Vectips tutorial on ow to create a chocolate covered strawberry…
In this case, the subject matter of a fairly realistic strawberry is likely to be approached somewhat similar by different artists. This was proposed separately and not influenced by the tutorial on Vectips. This final image and tutorial does go into a bit more detail than that tutorial as well. We appreciate the feedback though. And of course we work with Rype and have a great deal of respect for his work. Thanks.
Yeah, I agree that the final result is quite different – I can see that this tut focuses on the lighting more than Rype’s, and the overall result is more realistic, if I’m honest. It just seemed very close to the one on Vectips, and quite soon after… though I know that Vectortuts would never take ideas from other tutorial sites like Vectips, or visa-versa.
Yeah, I still can’t download this tutorial. It’s not listed in the Plus Content section after I log in.
We have that fixed now. Thx.
I wish you added some cream :)
Cream would be interesting, though would have drastically changed the focus of this tutorial. The feature here is on controlling lights and shadows. This is explained with a detailed walk through on making a vector strawberry. thx.
I think this tutorial has a better sense of light and shadow than the one previously mentioned, the result is very well done..and it totally makes me want to go buy a box of strawberries now…yummmm :)
