I was having a majorly frustrating time too with step 9 - what I did was: 1. With the DIRECT selection tool, select all of the RIGHT hand points of the lines only. 2. Choose the SCALE TOOL - a blue bullseye will appear - make sure this is on the BOTTOM line's point. 3. Then click on the top right hand point, press cmd (mac) or ctrl (pc) and drag down to scale right side only. When you get what you're after, deselect everything by pressing esc - voila!
