That way, you have the perspective there for visual reference and don't spend all your time cutting the lines. Drawing a 3-point perspective of anything complex in Illustrator can be an extremely tedious job though, and not for the faint of heart. Interesting, but I actually set up a full 3-point perspective multiply layer (in red usually) on top of my drawing and then lock it in place. That way, you have the perspective there for visual reference and don’t spend all your time cutting the lines.
