This is very good, but why are you using fractions of inches to specify type, rather than picas and points? That's like measuring your room in nautical miles.

Chris, we haven't planned on releasing a site dedicated to InDesign. At this point we plan on adding more ID tuts here. But if the requests for a site dedicated to that keep coming in, then it makes it more likely to happen. Thx.

Unless I'm misreading something, I don't believe the description of Keep Options is at all accurate. I understand it to 'keep' a certain number of lines together; for example, a subhead to stay with at least 4 lines of the next paragraph so it's not left standing on its own in certain instances.

blockquote {border-left: 1px;}

is there a way to create a vertical rule along the side of a paragraph like a rule above or below? The desired effect would be something similar to styling a
with {border-left: 1px;} in css.
Any ideas?

Like Jonathan and Greet pointed out, in Step 4 you can just let InDesign generate some dummy text for you. Right mouse click or menu Type > Fill with Placeholder Text.

But what this command does is really fill the type box of text. You may want to delete and break some lines to make the paragraphs you want though. A quick tip is to draw the type box right enough the size of the text you want, then fill text in, and enlarge the type box.
