Nice. Whenever I needed a flare effect, I’d use the filter in Photoshop. Never knew you could do the same thing in Illustrator.

It’s so simple. I never used the Flare tool, except for maybe one or two projects. I followed the tips and made some really neat images! I’ll probably use this effect in some upcoming projects, now that I know it’s possible.Seriously, give this a try. Even if you don’t like the flare tool, this is something useful to add to your library of knowledge!

  5. Wow – that is … great

Dang… I really want to see this, but all I’m seeing is one square with a black square inside of it… nothing else. Has the tut been removed for some reason?

Oops – got it figured out – was a problem with my flash settings – am now able to see it. :) Awesome tut – love the effect! Thanks! :)

Does this work with CS2? Because I don’t seem to have the Recolor Artwork feature.

In CS2, I believe it was called “Live Color.” I can’t remember, but it’s probably under the Edit menu.
