Okay. Great tut, but I’m a Fireworks n00b and can’t really justify the expense of both FW and PS. Is there a way to take the output of this tut and somehow continue to utilize FW to colorize and produce the code needed to render the site? Is there an example of this somewhere?

I’ve been a Fireworks user for many years, but i always got frustrated when i couldn’t pull off an effect that Photoshop could do. I thought that Fireworks was an alternative to Photoshop. But now from this tut i see the benefit of using Fireworks… not for full site design, but for quick wireframes and comps. This tut got me excited to get back into Fireworks!

Whats wrong? I don’t manage to get the guides with me to photoshop. But in your photoshop tutorial you have them. I mean the green guides, not the lightred ones.

At the moment being a n00b with wireframe design I have to say thanks for the author. This tutorial really got me going with Fireworks.

@Jim – yah, I wanted to cover this workflow in a tutorial because there are times that designers will want to take advantage of some of Photoshop’s tools, though in this case, you could have created a similar design in Fireworks. The quick interactive prototype creation, multi-page features, and more are all awesome in Fireworks. I’ll work on a tutorial to cover more of these features in the future. It will have to be multi-page. Thx.
